Sam’s Social Media Club is helping Starbucks find a Associate Manager, Social Media Strategy, Public Affairs.

As an associate manager, social media strategy you will be focusing on content development and community management. You will be responsible for writing social-first content and being the voice behind partner accounts across a variety of digital platforms (Instagram and Facebook) to inform and engage partners.

This requires not only strong communication skills but a passion for driving best-in-class content that increases engagement, inspires and informs. This includes keeping ahead of digital content trends and dialed-in to the current partner experience.

Through strong community management you will build audience engagement around our partner programs and initiatives. This includes highlighting trends, surprising and delighting our partners and quickly highlighting important mentions and possible partner concerns.

Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated history of thoughtfully managing digital communities across multiple platforms.

Leveraging Your Previous Experience, We Will Enable You To…

  • Produce various content types for partner digital channels, developing and sourcing creative assets
  • Write compelling social-first content and copywrite across channels
  • Publish content across the digital channels, ensuring it is accessible (i.e. – captions, alternative text)
  • Stay ahead of digital content trends helping to inform the evolution of the partner digital channels in partnership with the strategist
  • Mine the digital channels for storytelling amplification opportunities and content ideas across communication properties
  • Provide insights on trending topics, community needs, and interests of target audience across the digital channels, adjusting content and messaging accordingly
  • Generate insight into content performance and provide reporting and recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain a partner-first consistent voice across digital channels aligned with branding and target audience
  • Be familiar of Starbucks retail standards (dress code, operational standards, etc.)
  • Engage in community management (proactive and reactive) across digital channels, and address in real-time through empathetic and inspirational engagement, escalation, or documentation.
  • Curate and lead updating of moderation guides in support of campaigns and evergreen partner-first questions, working with cross-functional partners
  • Partner closely with partner communications, customer service, marketing, public affairs and program owners on engagement tactics as needed

We’d Love To Hear From People With:

  • 5+ years of content creation/copywriting and social media community management experience. Agency experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of digital platform capabilities and online engagement tools
  • Retail experience
  • Understanding of the retail landscape
  • Tactical mastery of developing social-first content that is accurate and free of grammatical errors
  • Passion for writing and developing content with the ability to adapt to different styles for various digital channels
  • Well established knowledge of building community, interacting and inspiring target audiences
  • Energized by working in a fast-paced organization
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time and self-management skills. Consistent and strong collaborator across teams
  • Self-driven and ambitious tech-savvy professional
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
