The role

  • Lead on coordinating internal communications across RNID, reviewing and implementing the Internal Communications Plan and advising colleagues at all levels on best practice
  • Streamline and manage our different internal comms channels
  • Manage the cycle of regular comms about our activity, our proactive campaigns (eg our Ear Wax and Check Your Hearing campaigns) and how we’re engaging in external events (eg awareness days, cultural events)
  • Organise our monthly Teams based All Staff Meetings
  • Lead planning and delivery of our three in-person Summits each year with the support of the Summit Planning Group, responsible for all logistics and bookings and ensuring we have high quality content at the events
  • Proactively work to embed our values and behaviours internally
  • Update our staff effectively on internally focused policies, systems and processes
  • Work with People team to support engagement in the staff survey, and use insight from the results to help guide our internal communications work – advising SLT on action needed
  • Support the Staff Engagement Forum and Deaf Awareness Group – helping agree and push forward their work programme (alongside the Director of Marketing and Communications as SLT Sponsor)
  • Line manage the Staff Events and Communications Coordinator

You

You are an experienced internal communications professional, passionate about the importance good communications can play in creating a highly engaged, motivated and values-led staff team.

You will be a self-starter, who thinks creatively and can see through projects from conception to delivery, and able to champion internal communications at all levels of the organisation. You will be passionate about making communications as inclusive and accessible as possible, championing deaf-aware communication across the organisation.
