We are looking for an experienced Senior Media and Content officer to join our high performing Media and Content team in our Brisbane City office to:
• Work collaboratively with senior management and key stakeholders to deliver a range of media and communication services including proactive media releases and opportunities, reactive media management, strategic messaging, public information and communications plans.
• Research, write and distribute content for a range of platforms including web, media, blogs, podcasts and social media channels.

What you will do
As our Senior Media and Content Officer, you will:
• Engage directly with the media reactively and proactively, including preparing media releases, responses and speaking points;
• Anticipate, identify and analyse major/sensitive/political issues before they arise and prepare appropriate responses or strategies for senior stakeholders;
• Provide general media and communication advice to stakeholders to maximise our reach across departmental, media and industry channels;
• Suggest, write and edit compelling content that promotes the work of the department on its various social media and other channels including newsletters,
using imagery, infographics and videography;
• Explore new channels and stay up to date with the latest media and social media trends to continuously improve how we communicate and engage our stakeholders;
• Generate reports on media/social media/digital coverage of specific issues or business areas as requested, and share insights with your communication and
engagement colleagues and stakeholders.
• Participate in the weekend on-call media roster.

What you will bring (qualifications, registrations, experience)
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, the experience and skills
outlined are highly desirable:
• Experience working with mainstream media across print, radio and online mediums,
• Well-developed skills in copywriting, editing, proofing and developing targeted and persuasive communication content in a digital environment,
• Experience scheduling, reporting and analysing digital content using a range of digital tools,
• Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies for campaigns.
