Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 per year (pro rata)
Location: Romford, Essex – with opportunities for hybrid working
Contract: 28 to 35 hours per week (negotiable) – flexible working arrangements will be welcome and seriously considered
Join LUPUS UK as our Social Media & Projects Officer to engage with and empower people to share their experiences and raise awareness of lupus.We are a registered charity formed in 1990, and we hold an ambition for a world where people with lupus can live full and active lives. We work hard to empower people by providing information about lupus and offering support, so their voices are heard and their condition diagnosed and managed effectively.

About the Role
You will join LUPUS UK’s staff team as our lead for social media. You will be tasked with managing our social media schedule and creating a range of engaging online content for our target audiences. This role requires working with a wide range of stakeholders and, importantly, nurturing relationships with our supporters to co-develop content.LUPUS UK has an active presence across a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok and its own online community on HealthUnlocked. You will need the right “voice” for each channel to resonate with our audience through a range of content formats.We are seeking a candidate who can work either a 28-hour (part-time) or a 35-hour (full-time) week. We are a flexible employer, supporting hybrid working arrangements for many of our staff. Ideally, the candidate will be able to divide their time appropriately between our office and working remotely. This role does require some occasional evening and weekend work with a generous overtime policy.

About You
We are looking for:
• Someone with passion and creativity for developing effective and engaging online content in a range of formats.
• Experience of involving key stakeholders, including those living with a long-term health condition in the development and delivery of services.
• An up-to-date understanding of the social media climate and how it can be used effectively to benefit our community and contribute to achieving the charity’s objectives.
• Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to develop effective partnership working.
• Someone who is highly organised with evidence of successfully working to deadlines and prioritising tasks.
• Ability to be self-motivated, with a pro-active approach to problem solving.
• Ability to display patience, resilience and optimism in the face of periodic pressure.
