Marketing & Ecommerce Assistant

Bear & Moo is a full-service e-commerce store for parents and families, based in Hamilton.  Our journey began selling reusable cloth nappies and wet bags from the spare bedroom, and now we offer a wide variety of products online, as well as offering our own brands through retailers.  We have three in house brands – Bear & Moo, Hello Poppet and Launder & Love. We are looking for a Marketing & Ecommerce Assistant for a brand new role.

This position will be based out of our office and warehouse in Frankton.  Reporting to our Head of Growth, Sales & Love, this role is responsible for the customer experience from their initial enquiry to purchase, including creating all content for the business.  We need a creative superstar with big ideas and loads of creativity, but who is grounded in strategy and organisation.  This is an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of our story.

We have epic customers, many of whom have been with us since we began almost six years ago.  This role is about connecting with those customers and building brand love with them, as well as bringing new customers to us.  We have a great Instagram and Facebook following, an engaged email list, and pride ourselves on creating relatable content.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in creating and implementing a monthly social media calendar that includes daily posting, focuses on promoting our core products and drives sales and growth across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and more)
  • Oversee social media community management, including responding to comments, engaging with followers and members, responding to DM’s, and serving as the eyes and ears of the brand on social channels through monitoring and social listening.
  • Create high-quality, compelling and engaging digital assets for organic, and paid promotional posts, eDM assets, Facebook groups, Tik Tok, and Instagram reels, blog posts, website assets
  • Design, create and deliver engaging EDM’s for B2C and B2B that achieve the strategic goals of the business
  • Assist with regular photoshoots and maintain photo databases for internal and external use
  • Assist with designing brand collateral including POS, lookbooks, catalogues, product packaging and other material to support sales
  • Manage sales, promotions and launches on the website ensuring content, pricing and tags are up to date and relevant
  • Regularly refresh photos and imagery as needed to increase conversion rate and website engagement
  • Maintain and build relationships with existing brand reps, influencers and UGC creators, continuing to seek out new connections that are a fit for the brand.
  • Providing epic customer service including responding to customer enquiries via email, website chat and phone, responding to DM’s, processing returns and product changes and communicating with our courier
  • Picking and packing orders when required

 

The key things we are looking for in a candidate are:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a marketing, communications or graphic design role
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing, social media, Klaviyo, Canva or other design software, Meta Creator Studio and video editing software (e.g. CapCut or InShot).
  • The ability to think outside the box, bring big ideas, provide appropriate suggestions for change, see what needs doing and get things done.
  • Experience being proactive and forward-thinking, process driven and the ability to see a process through from start to finish.
  • Strong MS Office and Google Workspace knowledge
  • An epic attitude – we’ve got a fab team and we want someone who will get on with the team and get in and get things done
  • Initiative and common sense
  • Self-motivation and a high level of organisation
  • Experience working within an ecommerce environment preferred although we will look at other industries with transferable skills.
