We are looking for a talented and ambitious marketer who believes they can make a difference; this is an incredible opportunity to work for a pioneering global non-profit tackling climate change by driving the transition to a circular economy.

This is a key appointment in our newly restructured Marketing and Communications team. You will be responsible for delivering our B2B and B2C marketing and campaigns, creating scaled communication that leads to a more sustainable use of resources in the UK and around the world. You will be changing the way things are produced, consumed, and disposed of and influencing people’s behaviours globally.

At WRAP we work with Governments, Corporations, FTSE-100 and Fortune 500 businesses, NGO’s, individuals and thinkers to deliver ground-breaking action and force change.

This is an important and exciting time to join WRAP. We are growing our reach across the globe to help meet the unprecedented challenges facing our planet.

Reporting directly to the Marketing & Communications Director, you will lead the Marketing and Campaigns team and be a key member of the Communications Leadership Team.

When applying for the role, you’ll be asked to describe how you meet the following job essentials:

  • Expertise in developing and executing high-performing campaigns and marketing activity across all owned, earned and paid channels and across all types of audience.
  • Ability to create grassroots, popular campaigns that galvanise civic society and create change.
  • Strong audience understanding, empathy and insight.
  • A rigorous and creative thinker, able to get to the heart of the issue and create inspiring, impactful evidence-based strategies and activity plans.
  • Confident communicator with excellent written, presentation, negotiation and networking skills. Ability to influence key stakeholders and to build strong external collaborations and alliances around a cause.
  • Comfortable with dealing with ambiguity, constructive conflict, and with challenging existing ways of thinking and working.
  • Excellent at building trusting and collaborative working relationships.
  • Action-orientation and drive for results
  • Able to develop high-performing marketing teams ideally in an NGO/charity environment.

Taking note: research shows that while men tend to apply for jobs when they meet around 60% of the criteria, women and marginalised people tend to only apply when they check every box. So, if you think you have what it takes, but don’t necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still apply.

Closing date for this role is Friday10th May at 23.59.

Interviews: shortlisted candidates will be invited to first round interviews after the closing date. It is intended that they will take place in the weeks of 27th May and 3rd June initially remotely via MS Teams and subsequently in person.

We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability and potential; please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustment so that we can help with making the application process work for you.

Ways of Working

You might be pleased to know that along with our flexitime policy, we’ve moved to hybrid working here at WRAP. Although this role is contractually based at one of our offices (Banbury, Cardiff, London or Belfast), in reality you will be able to work from home, with the caveat of coming into the office to collaborate with your teams as and when you need to. You, your manager, and your teams will have the freedom to decide when this will need to happen, but when it is agreed it will be important that you do attend the office. If you are invited for an interview, this can be discussed in more detail.

WRAP reserves the right to close this role early in the event of a large volume of applications.

Please note we are able to offer a skilled VISA for this role.

WRAP is a climate action NGO working around the globe to tackle the causes of the climate crisis and give the planet a sustainable future. Our vision is a thriving world in which climate change is no longer a problem.

At WRAP we believe that our natural resources shouldn’t be wasted. And that everything we use should be re-used and recycled. Our mission is to make the world a more sustainable place. We bring people together, we act on the facts, and we drive change.

Our core purpose is to help tackle climate change and protect our planet by changing the way things are produced, consumed and disposed of.

If you join us at WRAP – and we think you should – you’ll help us by tackling sustainable product design, reducing waste, encouraging re-use or advocating recycling across the food and drink, plastic packaging, clothing and textiles and the collections and recycling sectors.

You can help us all to do better.

We believe that diversity is to be celebrated, that equity is our mindset and inclusion is the norm.

We’re on a journey to become an organisation where the richness of different opinions, lived experiences and capabilities are nurtured. An organisation that looks beyond its own boundaries and thrives outside of its comfort zone.

Our people are what make WRAP unique. So, if you decide to join us in saving the planet, we commit to:

  • value difference and create an inclusive environment where everybody feels a sense of belonging, where everybody feels comfortable being themselves.
  • consider equity, diversity and inclusion in everything we do that relates to you, including our recruitment, selection and attraction practices.  Should you join WRAP, this follows through to pay and reward, development opportunities and career progression.
